Got affiliate status? Congrats! Now it’s time to set up your your Channel rewards! First, you’re probably wondering “What can I even do for my channel rewards?” Well there are a few obvious things, find something in your niche and follow up on that. So for example, playing with controllers inverted, time outs, no speaking for 5 minutes, can only start your sentences with “When I was a kid…” etc. But you didn’t come here for that, you came here for those snappy overlays, gif redemptions, videos, sounds, and more! Now, there are a few ways to do it, there are some bots but that always means confusing code, possibility to mess it up and then it’s not quite right. So here’s what we’re going to do instead! Click the link below to go to Tr!gger Fyre, sign in with your twitch account and we’ll go through all the steps to get you set up!
Now that you have an account, the default option here is commands, which you can also set up. So !dance could be a dance gif. You’ve got several options.
Images – This includes gifs, and you can include sound files with it.
Videos – This is like mp4s and video files.
Sounds – Basic sounds, mp3 files etc.
OBS – This allows you to create OBS Studio triggers.
Groups – This is group triggers.
We are going to focus on the first three. First thing to remember is it may be difficult to find, but you’ll need to add a new Browser source and the url you will use is the small pink button at the bottom right.
Once you’ve added this into your OBS Studio or Streamlabs OBS sources, it’s time to set up channel redemption. First, find what you want to do. For this example we are going to use a Little Sister from Bioshock, and the soundbyte “Daddy.” Set up your channel point on twitch.tv first.
Once done, copy the EXACT name of the channel redemption. You want to make sure it matches 100% or it won’t work. Head back over to Tr!gger Fyre. From here hit the blue “+” under our chain link. Then you’ll create your trigger.
Once you’ve copied the exact name, you can choose whether or not to allow it as a command. Now you HAVE to have a command name, but it will only work if you checkmark the “Allow command”. I leave this blank so it is only a channel reward. Then of course add your image, and sound if you want (optional.)
Once completed, here’s the tricky part. It may not work immediately, for your first reward, you may need to log out/close your OBS Studio or Streamlabs OBS, and reopen it. Then test it. You should now have your first overlay trigger. Now, make as many as you want!
Do note a few limitations. You can only have 20 triggers per tab. 20 Images, 20 videos, 20 sounds, etc. If you are using StreamElements you’ll click the upper right hand (your user avatar) and the token should be there to help you set up.
And that’s it! Quick, easy, reliable. You don’t need to have a bot on or open on you desktop to clutter up more space, don’t need to mess with confusing commands.
